Jonah Hinebaugh, a Naples Daily News journalist, visited the south Lee County community Wednesday to document the day after Idalia made its presence felt.

He found drivers brave enough to navigate partially flooded Hickory Boulevard, a jogger undeterred by standing water along roads and beach-goers taking selfies.

Bonita and other parts of the region also endured power outages, property damage and more.

Even so, residents likely felt fortunate to not have another major hurricane hit directly like Ian did about 11 months ago.
