Update: Hiker found in ‘good condition’ after going missing in Yosemite National Park
UPDATE: A 22-year-old woman who went missing during a hike in Yosemite National Park in California has been found safe, the park service reported on social media around noon Monday.
She was “found within the search area with just a few scrapes and is in good condition,” the post says. “She is being reunited with her family.”
ORIGINAL STORY: A 22-year-old woman went missing at Yosemite National Park over the weekend and officials were looking for help in the search for her.
Yailine “Jaylene” Maldonado was last seen headed west from the Ostrander Lake Ski Hut area around 10 a.m. Saturday and never returned to her camp, park officials said on social media.
She went out for a day hike wearing black shorts, a red bandanna and a green short-sleeve or black long-sleeve shirt, officials said. She also had the top compartment of a red Osprey brand backpack.
She is 5-foot-6 and has thin, dark hair.
Park officials said they were looking for tips from anyone who may have seen Madonado or who had been at Ostrander Lake, Hart Lake, Buena Vista Lake or were hiking on any of the nearby trails or cross country in those areas.
“Simply knowing where you went and when you were there may help us focus the search, whether you saw anyone or not,” officials said.
