High School Roundup | St. Thomas routs Akron East, Minerva falls to Tusky Valley
LOUISVILLE — Host St. Thomas led 11-0 after one quarter and 32-4 at halftime, and went to defeat Akron East 50-13 in high school girls basketball on Monday.
Avery Bussey scored a career-high 22 points for St. Thomas Aquinas (6-10). Jo Smith grabbed nine rebounds.
Tuscarawas Valley 46, Minerva 32
MINERVA — Brook Stookey had a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds for Tusky Valley as the Trojans topped Minerva. The Trojans improved to 16-3 with the win.
Jenna Cassidy had 17 points for Minerva. The Lions led 10-9 after the first quarter but Tusky Valley outscored Minerva 11-2 to take control and never looked back.
