HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Monomoy baseball gets back to .500
The Monomoy High baseball team won its third straight game and got back to .500 with a 11-0 win over Rising Tide on Wednesday.
Sharks starter Andrew Clifford threw a one-hit, complete-game shutout, striking out nine, to set the tone for the win. He also helped his own cause at the plate with a pair of hits and two RBIs.
Helping him in the offensive onslaught were Jack Reid, who had a pair of hits to go with three RBIs, and Owen Lavin, who had two hits and an RBI.

Baseball
Bourne 10, Upper Cape 0: Luca Finton had a complete-game shutout, striking out seven to lead the Canalmen (6-4). Griffin Kelly had two hits and three RBIs to pace the offense, while Damon White, Jacob Lewis, and Tobin Johnston each had multi hit games. Jacob Allen, Tyler Kutil and Asher Graff each had hits for the Rams, who fall to 7-3.
Sandwich 11, Falmouth 1: Connor Finn made an impact on the mound, where he threw a complete game, and at the plate, where he had two hits and four RBIs. Jack Mulcahy and Ty Creighton each had a pair of hits as well in the win for the Blue Knights (9-2). Falmouth falls to 4-5.

Martha's Vineyard 7, Nauset 0: The Vineyarders improve to 5-6 with the shutout win over the Warriors (1-10).
Barnstable 10, Dennis-Yarmouth 0: The Red Hawks jump to 8-3, and the Dolphins fall to 5-7.
St. John Paul II 9, Sturgis West 7: The Lions improve to 7-4 behind two hits and three RBIs from Tyler Ross, and a strong relief outing from Ty Reed. Reed went 4⅓ innings, and only allowed a single run, and struck out four. The win is their fifth in a row. The Navigators are now 4-3.
Softball
Falmouth 8, Sandwich 4: Anna Velesig pitched a complete game, and struck out nine to help the Clippers improve to 4-5. Velesig, Kendall Joseph, Kaylee Shaw and Anna Bennett each collected two hits. Velesig had a solo home run and scored twice, Shaw drove in two and scored a run, and Bennett and Joseph each scored a run. Bella Vaudo had two RBIs for the Blue Knights (4-6), and Maddie Brown and Cece Donovan each had an RBI.
Dennis-Yarmouth 12, Barnstable 0: Savannah Azoff pitched 4⅔ shutout innings for the Dolphins (4-6), who picked up their second win in a row. D-Y had a seven-run first inning, led by hits from Gabby Tanon, Shae McSharry, Alexa Barboza, and Azoff. Tanon. Jordyn Pineau, and Barboza had three hits each to lead the D-Y offense, that collected 16 total hits.

Monomoy 17, Nauset 4: The Sharks (5-6) hand the Warriors (9-2) their second loss. Willa Leighton went 3-for-3, and Bella Bellefuille, AJ Gates, and Lilly Furman each had two hits.
Sturgis East 15, Nantucket 3: Molly Reino went 3-for-3 with a home run to power the Storm (8-2) past the Whalers (2-7). Sophia Bruno got the start for Sturgis and went four scoreless innings, and hit a triple.
Norwell 19, Mashpee 2: The Falcons fall to (2-9).
Rising Tide 18, Martha’s Vineyard 14: The Vineyards record is now 1-7.
Boys Tennis
Barnstable 4, Dennis-Yarmouth 1: Wins from Kyler Medeiros (6-2, 6-3 at first singles), Brennen Riley (6-0, 6-0, at third singles), and doubles sweep from Connor O'Reilly/Andy Coombs (6-0, 6-0 at first doubles), and Mike Higginbotham/David Perry (6-2, 7-5 at second doubles) secured the win for the Red Hawks (8-2). Colin Caron (0-6, 7-5, 10-5 at second singles) scored the lone point for the Dolphins (0-7).

Sturgis 5, Rising Tide 0: Sturgis improves to 6-2 with the sweep. Mike Olson, Ben Bass, and Ray Zhang all won 6-0, 6-0, in first, second, and third singles, respectively. Ben Hall/Fransisco Garcia Raya took first doubles (6-0, 6-1), and Ben Halunen/Max Raponi took second doubles (3-6, 7-6(7-3), 6-2).
Cape Cod Academy 3, Monomoy 2: The Seahawks improve to 7-1, thanks to a win from Luke Spinner in first singles (6-4, 6-3), and a doubles sweep from Connor Hall/Griffin Mayo (6-2, 6-2 at first doubles), and Tom Murray/Ayden Naydenov (6-4, 6-3 at second doubles). Vidan Vujosevis and Gavin McDonell won second and third singles (6-3, 7-5).
Martha's Vineyard 4, Nauset 1: The Vineyarders improve to 7-0, and Nauset drops to 6-1.
Norwell 5, Mashpee 0: The Falcons drop to 1-6.
Girls Tennis
Barnstable 3, Dennis-Yarmouth 2: Sophie Davis (6-3, 7-5 at first singles), Teagan Geroghty (6-2, 6-0 at third singles), and Hannah Dutra/Dana Edwards (6-1, 6-0 at second doubles), all won for Barnstable (3-5) in a narrow win over the Dolphins (0-7). Tristin Bradford (6-4, 6-1 at second singles), and Elianna Shirley/Willania Thompson (6-4, 4-6, 7-5 at first doubles) were victorious for the Dolphins.
Falmouth 5, Sandwich 0: The Clippers (6-1) got the sweep over the Blue Knights (2-9).
Cape Cod Academy 3, Monomoy 2: Lili Shanahan (6-1, 6-1 at first singles), Bella Scioiletti (6-0, 6-0 at second singles), and Molly Lowrey/Yoana Doklaraeach (3-6, 7-5, 6-4 at second doubles) took victories for the Seahawks (8-1) to clinch the win. Jocelyn White (7-5, 6-3 at third singles), and Alyson Morris/Christie Beckley (6-1, 6-1 at first doubles) took points Monomoy.

Dighton-Rehoboth 13, Bourne 7: The Canalmen fall to 5-6.
Southeastern 16, Cape Tech 1: Cape Tech falls to 0-9.
Girls Lacrosse
Dighton-Rehoboth 10, Bourne 9: The Canalwomen fall to 5-7.
Bridgewater-Raynham 18, Mashpee 12: The loss drops the Falcons to 3-8.

Nauset 4, Dennis-Yarmouth 0: The Warriors improve to 2-4, and the Dolphins drop to 0-2.
Girls Track
Dennis-Yarmouth 88, Barnstable 48: The Dolphins (5-0) continued their undefeated season with sweeps in five events and victories in both relay events over the Red Hawks (3-2). In the loss for the Red Hawks, Lilly DeDecko won two events (two mile (12:07) and the mile (5:26)), Latavia Thompson won the high jump (4'8"), Lillie Ells won the javelin (95'7"), Joslin Cabral won discus (95'1"), and Chloe Dibb took first in the 800 (2:20.6).
