High school roundup: Hockey wins for St. Thomas boys, Exeter girls and boys

DOVER — The St. Thomas Aquinas High School boys hockey team went 23-0 last season, finishing it off with a state championship. The Saints picked up right where it left off Wedneday, opening the 2022-23 season with an 8-0 win over Spaulding in a Division II matchup at Dover Ice Arena.

Brendan Chrisom scored three goals, and Aidan Gorman, Joey Pickett, Colin Chrisom, Rolly Edgerly and Jackson Estes all scored one goal each for the Saints in the win.

CONCORD — Exeter's Ty Robinson recorded his 100th career point with a first period assist, one of his two assists in the Blue Hawks' Division I win.

Brian Najjar had two goals, and Cam Keaveney, Chase Barbour and Eddie Hannan all had one goal a piece, while Najjar, Keaveney, Roger Davis, Callum Howarth, Matt Wallace, Joe Crowe and Nolan Deacy each had one assist for Exeter.

Exeter goalie Logan Dixon recorded 19 saves.

Winnacunnet 7

Portsmouth/Newmarket 0

HAMPTON — Cam Wooles scored two goals and had two assists, and Seamus Bihari had two goals to lead the Warriors to a season opening Division II win.

Alec Mitchell, Nolan Rennie and Brady Thompson each scored a goal

Additionally for Winnacunnet, Alex Santora had three assists, Drew Marelli and Brayden Emery had two assists, and Aiden Cink had one assist.

GIRLS HOCKEY

Exeter 9

Bedford 2

MANCHESTER — Lily Blood scored four goals, and Molly Greene scored three goals to lead the Blue Hawks to a Division I win at Saint Anselm College.

Caitlyn Knowles and Alli MacDonald each had a goal, while Knowles had four assists, and Blood and Greene each had one.

CAMPBELL — Abby Rayder had a game-high 26 points for the Saints in this Division III win.

Sophomore Genna Bolduc had a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
