HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Bourne boys basketball crowned Winterfest champions
The Bourne High School boys basketball were crowned the Winterfest Tounament champs with an 88-65 win over Plymouth South High School on Monday.
They were led by tourney MVP Nate Reynolds, who finished with 25 points. Shea Ullo added 20 points, and Mike Dankert and Leo Andrade each contributed 12 points for Bourne (17-3).
In girls ice hockey, Norwood High School beat Martha's Vineyard Regional High School 4-3. Savannah Meader, Elle Mone and Emily Coogan each scored for the Vineyarders. Alana Nevin dished out two assists, and Mone and Olive MacPhail each had an assist for Martha's Vineyard (12-6-2).

Nauset 80, Monomoy 57: The Warriors outscored the Sharks 40-15 in the fourth quarter. Patrick O'Keefe led the way with 18 points, Nico Harrington followed up with 17 points, and Joey Berardi contributed 14 fourth-quarter points for Nauset (12-8). Jackson Rocco had 25 points and Jackson Morneau added 12 points for Monomoy (5-14).
Cape Cod Academy 82, Abington 81: Mike Berry led the way with 25 points and 8 rebounds for the Seahawks. Trey Merritt contributed 17 points for Cape Cod Academy (8-11). CCA will play Rockland on Wednesday in the championship of the Cotter Tournament
Rockland 64, Sandwich 57: The Blue Knights drop to 1-18 with the loss in the Cotter Tournament.
Girls Basketball
Sandwich 50, Carver 28: The Blue Knights finished their regular season with a 15-4 record.
Bourne 52, Dennis-Yarmouth 42: Paige Meda scored 20 points for the Canalwomen in their regular-season finale. McKinley Wenzel had 11 points and Nola Timo contributed 8 for Bourne (17-3).

Cohasset/Hull 5, St. John Paul II 3: Coltan Henderson scored twice for the Lions in the loss. Chris Heywood scored his first varsity goal and Liam Monaghan dished out two assists. Jon Valiga, Braden Shortt and Andrew Crapo each had an assist for JPII (4-16-1).
Sandwich 6, North Reading 0: Chris Cardillo finished with a hat trick for the Blue Knights in the shutout. Harley Ellis, Ty Creighton and Harry Glover each scored a goal for Sandwich (15-3-1).
Auburn/Millbury 4, Nantucket 3: Following a nine-game win streak, the Whalers (11-6) have dropped their last two.
Nauset 7, Monomoy/Mashpee 0: The Warriors (14-5) are heating up just in time of the playoff with their fourth straight win.
D-Y/CCT/CCA 7, Blue Hills 1: Cole Rounseville finished with 20 saves and Aidan Powers had a hat trick for Dennis-Yarmouth/Cape Tech/Cape Cod Academy. John Valerio, Cam Dupee, Robbie McPhee and Cam Cavatorta each scored a goal for D-Y/CCT/CCA (12-8-1). Tanner Chicoine, Luke Spinner, Valerio, Kyle Zabaleta, Cavatorta and Max Hulten each dished out an assist.

Track & Field
At the Div. 3 Indoor Track & Field Championships, Nauset placed 15th overall out of 30 teams. In the 600m, Damian Bebber placed second in 1:24.68. Aidan Brown placed second in the 55m hurdles in 7.90.
The Nauset girls placed seventh out of 33 teams. In the 300m, Violet Roche placed fourth in 41.98. Amdeline Mahoney took the top spot in the 1,000m in 3:01.16. Roche tied for sixth finish in the high jump (4-10.00). Cecilia LaBarge placed fourth in the shot put (32-02.50).
In the MIAA Div 2 Indoor Track & Field Championships, the Barnstable girls placed 11th out of 27 teams. Chloe Dibb won the 1,000m in 2:59.64 (personal and school record). Lily DeDecko ran a personal record in the mile in 5:16.78, good for seventh place. The 4x800m team of Lily DeDecko, Sophia Murphy, Emma Steenstra and Chloe Dibb placed fourth and further lowered their own school record in 10:03.1.
