Here's what to know about Candy Cane Lane, other Christmas light displays in Corpus Christi
It's the most wonderful time of the year — Christmas lights are now on display in the Coastal Bend.
These houses and areas are pumped for the upcoming holiday, so be sure to visit these well-known places with your friends and family.
Candy Cane Lane
Neighborhood off Everhart Road and Donegal Drive
With each passing year, Candy Cane Lane continues to elevate in lights, decorations and the Christmas spirit.
More than 300 homeowners participate in the tradition of displaying their houses in holiday joy.
While the name may imply only one street, Candy Cane Lane spans through the neighborhood of Donegal Drive and as far as the Schanen Estates neighborhood.
Downtown Corpus Christi
As part of Mayor Paulette Guajardo's Merriest Décor Contest in downtown Corpus Christi, many local businesses have their shops decked out with lights, garlands and painted windows for the holiday season.
Instead of bar hopping downtown, take a stroll with your loved ones and grab some selfies at your favorite spots.
Garcia Holiday Light Show
3425 Austin St.
For almost a decade, the Garcia family has set up a two-house display for the whole community to enjoy.
More than 85,000 lights are synchronized to holiday music with lasers, video projection and 20-foot-tall pixel tree.
Viewers can tune to 100.7 FM and enjoy the light show from the comfort of their vehicle.
H-E-B Christmas Tree
Water's Edge Park at 602 S. Shoreline Blvd.
The tradition of lighting a Christmas tree in downtown Corpus Christi started in 1980 and became an annual custom.
Now people flock to the Bayfront to witness live music, Santa Claus and the lighting of the area's tree.
It will be up until Jan. 9.
Mr. Bill's Christmas Wonderland
3242 Hampton St.
The family of Bill Cox, aka Mr. Bill, is continuing Cox's holiday tradition after his death last year.
Mr. Bill's Christmas Wonderland is not only one of the most impressive Christmas displays in Corpus Christi, but it has also been featured on ABC's "The Great Christmas Light Fight."
What started as just a Christmas train and a choir two decades ago has evolved into a variety of festive lights and decorations. Don't worry, the train is still there and visitors can ride it while enjoying a Nativity scene and meet Santa Claus.
Santa's Mailbox
1026 Belmeade Drive
In 2013, Nickolas and Michelle Millikan wanted to give children the magic of Christmas by creating Santa's Mailbox. Little ones can drop off a letter and receive a personalized letter from Saint Nick, as long as there's a returning address.
The couple spend hours each holiday season writing responses to all who drop a letter in the red mailbox in their yard. Be sure to swing by to have your children send their letter to Santa Claus as soon as you can.
