New Hartford's Emma Friedel earns top honors in Section III Class A volleyball
New Hartford was the lone local school to win their class in Section III girls’ volleyball this season and the Spartans were rewarded with player of the year and coach of the year honors.
Senior Emma Friedel was named the Class A player of the year and Coach Bill Gardinier was named Class A coach of the year. The Spartans also had four players named all-stars in class A.
Their rivals and Class A runner-up Whitesboro had two players named Class A all-stars.
In Class B, runner-up Vernon-Verona-Sherill led local schools with three all-stars. Canastota followed with two selections. Oneida and Sherburne-Earlville had one all-star each.
Mt. Markham – the Class C runner-up – led local schools with three all-star selections. Dolgeville had two selections and Cooperstown had one.
For Class D, New York Mills and Remsen had one selection each.
