Future Black History Makers: Meet MaKenzie Jones, a fifth-grader at Gray's Creek Elementary
MaKenzie Jones, 11, is in fifth grade at Gray's Creek Elementary School.
She was nominated as a Future Black History Maker because "MaKenzie takes pride in her academic accomplishments. No matter the challenge, MaKenzie is always willing to try any new task given. She is member of the Beta Club. She also is a member of “BNN”, which stands for Bears News Network. Makenzie and her team lead the Pledge of Allegiance, the school mission statement and even give us words of wisdom to start off our day. This year, Makenzie learned the Pledge of Allegiance in sign language. She now signs this each day on BNN," her nominator writes.
