Former Virginia QB Brennan Armstrong commits to NC State football. What does it mean?
After visiting the Raleigh campus earlier this week, former Virginia quarterback Brennan Armstrong announced his commitment to NC State football on Saturday, reuniting him with offensive coordinator Robert Anae.
Armstrong threw for 4,449 yards and 31 touchdowns in 2021 under Anae. After Anae departed for Syracuse last season, Armstrong's production dipped significantly, completing 54% of his passes with seven touchdowns to 12 interceptions.
"Final chapter," Armstrong wrote on Twitter.

NC State's quarterback situation remains in flux after the departure of Devin Leary to Kentucky and the play of third-year freshman Ben Finley in the Duke's Mayo Bowl loss. True freshman MJ Morris is seen as the clear-cut favorite to start next season after three-touchdown games against Virginia Tech and Wake Forest before suffering a season-ending lower-body injury against Boston College. True freshman Lex Thomas will also join the team next season. But Armstrong's addition could quickly heat up the quarterback battle.
Morris was set to play against Maryland in the postseason bowl game before swelling around his injury forced coach Dave Doeren to sit him.
