Former Cincinnati QB AJ McCarron leads St. Louis Battlehawks to another XFL comeback win
Former Cincinnati Bengals quarterback A.J. McCarron has started his XFL career with a pair of come-from-behind wins for the St. Louis Battlehawks.
Four days after rallying St. Louis past the San Antonio Brahmas in his debut, McCarron led the Battlehawks' game-winning drive in a 20-18 win against the Seattle Sea Dragons on Thursday night at Lumen Field.
McCarron, who played his first four NFL seasons for the Bengals, completed 22 of 36 passes for 184 yards with a touchdown, adding 41 rushing yards on five carries with a score on the ground.
Social media reactions to McCarron's 2-0 start with St. Louis, including from XFL owner Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson:
Takes less money signing with us over the @NFL because he wanted his little boys to see him play. Now he’s 2-0 and led his team to back to back exciting last minute wins. I’d say he’s creating some memories for his boys. AJ’s decision means a helluva lot to me, personally. #XFL https://t.co/AZG6EiIy9Z
