Former Aggie Basketball Star Quenton Jackson signs with the Washington Wizards
Former Aggies guard Quenton Jackson went undrafted during the NBA Draft on Thursday night but was promptly signed to an Exhibit 10 deal with the Washington Wizards, giving him the opportunity to prove his worth in the summer league with a chance to potentially earn a spot on the Wizard’s 15 man roster.
Ranked as the 31st overall undrafted prospect according to ESPN, Jackson is coming off the most productive season of his career with Texas A&M, where he averaged 14.8 points per game, 3.5 rebounds, and 2 assists, with a field goal percentage of 49%. The 2021-2022 season was one of the most memorable to date, with the Aggies controversially missing out on the NCAA Tournament despite an impressive resume to end the regular season, taking it in stride while making an impressive run in the NIT all the way to the finals, narrowly losing to the Xavier Musketeers 73 to 72. During the season, Jackson stood out as one of the primary leaders on offense and defense, especially in the latter half of the season when the team went 7-1, making it all the way to the SEC finals.
Overall, Quenton Jackson is a great athlete on the floor, with the ability to score at all three levels, shows great speed and quickness in transition, and shines as an on-ball defender with a great feel for zone and man defense, averaging 1.8 steals last season for the Aggies. We will be rooting for Jackson as he chases after his NBA dream, knowing that the entire Texas A&M community has his back no matter what.
