Florida State football lands 2nd linebacker out of 2024 recruitment class
Linebackers coach Randy Shannon has landed his second commit out of the recruiting Class of 2024.
Linebacker Timir Hickman-Collins, out of Indian Land High School in Fort Mill, South Carolina, announced Sunday that he's committed to Florida State over Georgia Tech, Charlotte and Charleston Southern.
He joins 3-star Jayden Parrish as the second linebacker to commit to FSU this recruiting cycle. Parrish, from Delray Beach, Florida, committed to FSU in April
"First I want to thank God for this opportunity," Hickman-Collins tweeted. "Thank you to my coaches past and present for preparing me for this! Lastly, thank you Florida State University for your offer! I am happy to accept this opportunity with my 1000% commitment to Florida State University! GO NOLES."
The 6-foot-1 inch, 218-pound linebacker has proven to be a versatile player, performing highly on the gridiron and the track.
Hickman-Collins commitment caps off a big weekend for the Seminoles as they landed 5-star cornerback Charles Lester III on Friday. Lester's commitment bumped FSU's recruitment rankings to No. 6 (247 Sports) and No. 5 (On3) in the country.
The Seminoles are eyeing two more big-time prospects this coming weekend in 4-star athlete Jalewis Solomon and 5-star athlete KJ Bolden. Both will be committing on August 5.
Hickman-Collins is the 20th commit from the recruiting Class of 2024 and the eighth addition on the defensive side of the ball.
