They say life sometimes imitates art.

The same, it seems, can be said of family game centers.

The owners of the Jurassic Mountain family fun center in Medina County plan to transform the place into a "Five Nights at Freddy's" themed haunt for a weekend this fall.

"Five Nights at Freddy's" is a video game created by Scott Cawthon that has spawned books and other pop culture.

Cawthon announced in June 2021 that he was stepping away from gaming.

There have been some nine incarnations of the video games released since 2014 that center around what happens at night inside of a Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza when the place's animatronic characters like Freddy Fazbear come to life.

Jurassic Mountain plans to convert its facility that boasts a game room, climbing area and laser tag arena into a haunt similar to that found in the video game.

There is a Facebook page for the haunt, and just 2,100 tickets are available at $50 each.

To purchase tickets visit https://jurassicmountain.com/shop.

The hourly timeslots are limited to just 100 guests per hour for the four-day haunt that will be open the Friday leading into Halloween night.

Organizers declined to comment but posted on social media over the weekend that some 900 tickets have already been sold.

Jurassic Mountain is located in a plaza along state Route 18 just east of Interstate 71 in Medina Township.

It is not far from another Medina County haunt, the Forrest of Screams, that is situated a bit farther west on Route 18.
