Firefighters Tackle California's Mosquito Fire as It Passes 60,000 Acres

The Mosquito Fire in Northern California had burned 63,776 acres by Wednesday, September 14, according to official reports.

The fire, in Placer County and El Dorado County, was 20 percent contained and had destroyed 64 structures and threatened approximately 5,848 homes, the Placer County Sheriff said.

This footage from the Placer County Government shows the efforts of firefighters to tackle the blaze in Foresthill. They said defensive firing operations, helicopters, and air tankers were being used to defend the area.
