Fans React to Rachel McAdams' Natural Armpit Hair in New Photoshoot
'We need more of this,' one fan commented on social media.
Rachel McAdams is embracing her full self in new images she requested be "minimally edited."
The actress stunned in several shots showing off her "natural" body—along with decidedly unshaved armpits—for a recent Bustle cover story.
“With this shoot, I’m wearing latex underwear. But I’ve had two children. This is my body, and I think that's so important to reflect back out to the world," she told the publication.
In the beautifully captured photoset, the 44-year-old posed unashamedly, proudly baring both fabulous 'fits, and what some might view as "imperfections" alike. “I love that juxtaposition of beauty, glam, fantasy, and then truth," the Wedding Crashers actress noted.
Fans on social media, who took to Instagram and Twitter to express their reactions to the shots, rallied around the mom-of-two, praising the pics and McAdams' desire to put her 'pits, as is, on full display.

"NATURAL WOMAN 💗," one said in the comment section of Bustle's Instagram post announcing the project.
"Love her, and also love appreciating bodies that age and expand regardless of whether they’ve had children or not 💜," another applauded, as a third agreed: "Love her for embracing her natural beauty!!!"
One admitted these types of images were missing from her childhood: "This is what I needed to see when I was growing up! Yes 🙌"
Someone else wrote what we were all thinking, saying they "want more of this in hollywood 🙌"
A few, on the other hand, didn't quite take a liking to the un-groomed look The Notebook star rocked.
"I guess she needs the attention. I don’t pay attention to Hollywood. Is her career failing?" one disgruntled Twitter user questioned, as another joked: "I was told once, 'if you don’t paint your toes and don’t shave your pits, the rest of you is likely a mess.' I started getting pedicures that day," alongside a laughing emoji.
A third chimed in, trolling the actress' choice by using one of her own lines from Mean Girls, tweaked to fit the situation: "Stop trying to make armpit hair happen!"
Still, more clapped back to the opposition, matter-of-factly stating, in part: "I sure as hell won’t be removing body hair for some false pretense that it makes any difference in my attractiveness" and "How can a natural part of someone’s body be nasty? That makes no sense."
McAdams has been busy promoting her upcoming film, Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret, where she steps into the role of Barbara Simon, mother of the titular character, played by Abby Ryder Fortson.
Based on the 1970 Judy Blume novel of the same name, the movie follows a young girl named Margaret Simon. "When her family moves from the city to the suburbs, the 11-year-old navigates new friends, feelings, and the beginning of adolescence," according to its synopsis.
Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret drops in theaters April 28, 2023.
