Fans Rally Around Billie Eilish After She Shares Heartbreaking Post About Her Dog's Death: ‘We Are So Sorry’
Billie Eilish shared a poignant goodbye to her loyal companion and furry friend, Pepper, on social media. On July 23rd, the Grammy winner, 21, posted her sorrowful farewell to her long-time best friend in a post for her 109 million Instagram followers.
Her followers and devotees have long been treated to adorable photos and videos of Eilish’s beloved dog. In the past week, many have united in the comment section to provide Eillish with comfort and solace throughout this difficult period.
In her caption, the “Happier Than Ever” singer wrote: “pepper. my life long best friend. i will see you again someday sweet girl. you made it 15 years you f—g beast. :’) i love you.” She added: “rest easy mama, i’ll miss you forever.this is a really hard day.”
The “Bad Guy” hitmaker’s 10-part post included several photos of her adorable late pup, throwback pics of her and Pepper from her childhood, and a sweet family shot that showed her, her brother Finneas and parents posing with the dog.

Fans quickly headed to Eilish’s comment section to share their own experiences and memories regarding the loss of a pet and others tried to comfort Eilish with sweet, supportive messages. “Sending you lots of love,” one wrote as another added: “dogs should be forever, so sorry, Billie.”
Eilish’s famous friends also shared kind words, with Demi Lovato writing: “I’m so sorry,” and Eiza Gonzalez adding: “Awww baby I’m so sorry this is so tough :( . Sending you and your family a huge hug and love.” Fans were deeply affected by the montage of images, which displayed Eilish maturing alongside her canine companion, from Pepper’s time as a pup to adulthood.
“You grew up together,” one wrote with a broken heart emoji as another added: “you”ll see her again” with a red heart and crying emoji.
Apart from her personal life, Eilish’s career has continued to flourish. Recently, she posted a carousel of pictures to celebrate her most recent song, “What Was I Made For?”, which has been included in the incredibly successful Greta Gerwig-directed Barbie movie.
During a recent chat with Apple Music 1 host Zane Lowe, Eilish shared how her and her brother Finneas’ frustration with songwriting sparked the creation of the track. “We were really in a zone of feeling like we lost it and feeling like, ‘Man, I don’t know if we can do this anymore.’ And we were like, I was 15 years old, 16, 17, and he’s a teenager, you can imagine my thoughts of doubt. Like, ‘Oh, I can’t do this anymore,’ ” Eilish said.

She went on, stressing that director Gerwig “just pulled it out of me, I don’t know.” Eilish continued: “I really don’t mean this to come off a conceited way at all, but I do this thing where I make stuff that I don’t even know is … like I’m writing for myself and I don’t even know it,” she said. “It is one of the most incredible things I get to experience in my life. Dude, the next week I was playing it in the car all day and playing it for everybody. And I was like, ‘This is exactly how I feel. And I didn’t even mean to be saying it.'”
