Ex-Colts coach Frank Reich puts $1.9 million Indy home for sale five days after firing
Former Indianapolis Colts coach Frank Reich put his $1.9 million home on North Illinois Street up for sale just five days after the team fired him and brought in former Colts center and ESPN analyst Jeff Saturday as interim coach.
According to records from MIBOR, the 7,848-square-foot home owned by Frank M. Reich and wife Linda, was listed Saturday Nov. 12 and that same day had a sale pending. Reich was fired by the Colts Nov. 7.
Reich purchased the Washington Township home for $1.5 million in 2018, according to real estate records, the same year he was hired as Colts coach after Josh McDaniels backed out.
"Enjoy a light open floor plan that flows from room to room. Floor to ceiling windows, soaring ceilings and incredible great room opens to new outdoor living space," the MIBOR listing for Reich's home reads. "Accordion doors open entire wall to invite the outside in. State of the art remote shades for privacy."
Other features of the home, according to the listing, are a "beautiful Zen garden designed for those who enjoy yoga outdoors, downtime and sounds of nature," a fenced yard for privacy and a three-car garage "that offers a dog bath for puppy spa days."
The master suite includes his/her walk-in closets, a large designer bathroom and a fireplace. The home has two kitchens, one that opens to a "huge great room" and a separate chef's kitchen for entertaining, the listing says. A pool with new stamped concrete adorns the back yard of the home.
In his first season with the Colts, Reich, with Andrew Luck as quarterback, reached the playoffs after a 1-5 start. He took the team to the playoffs again in 2020, just one season after Luck abruptly retired during the preseason in 2019.
In his four and a half seasons with the team, Reich was forced to coach each season with a different starting quarterback -- Luck, Jacoby Brissett, Philip Rivers, Carson Wentz and Matt Ryan. Reich finished 40-33-1, reaching the playoffs twice and earning one postseason win.
