Everything We Know About Bryonna Burrows (Jalen Hurts' Girlfriend 2023)
How long they've been dating, her MBA, and her taste in literature.
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts did a hard girlfriend reveal after winning one of the most important games of his career. After securing a spot in Super Bowl LVII by beating the San Francisco 49ers, Hurts was photographed hand-in-hand with longtime girlfriend Bryonna Burrows.
Hurts and Burrows are both private people, so this public moment was huge. But after such a big win, wouldn’t you want to share it with your person? Hurts was drafted by the Eagles in 2020. He threw the first passing touchdown of his pro career playing the Green Bay Packers in December of that year. His first year of ball went well enough that Hurts became the Eagles’ starter in 2021. From there, he helped get the Eagles to the playoffs in the 2021 season, and now is going to the Super Bowl. Throughout all this, his college girlfriend has been by his side.
Read on to find out all about Jalen Hurts’ girlfriend, Bryonna Burrows.
Who is Jalen Hurts’ girlfriend?
Jalen Hurts made his first public appearance with girlfriend Bryonna Burrows at the Jan. 29 game, according to Bustle. Philly sports blog Crossing Broad called the choice to go public at the NFC Championship game a “power move,” and noted that her Instagram is private and has around 1700 followers. Burrows is clearly not taking the WAG (abbreviation for “wives and girlfriends”) influencer career track. According to her LinkedIn profile, Burrows speaks English, Spanish and Portuguese.
“Jalen Hurts is the hottest dude in this city and he just hard launched his girlfriend right in everybody’s face,” Crossing Broad wrote. “No chasing skirt. No running around town. Just a dude who probably went home, cooked some crawfish, turned on Anita Baker, and studied Steve Spagnuolo’s blitz schemes.”

When did Bryonna Burrows and Jalen Hurts meet?
Both Hurts and Burrows attended the University of Alabama, where they are presumed to have met. (Again, their premiere as a couple was only at the end of January, so much is still unknown about these two!) According to Bustle, Hurts transferred to the University of Oklahoma his senior year, where he graduated in 2019. Hurts played on both his colleges’ football teams, then was drafted to the NFL.
Burrows, on the other hand, graduated from University of Alabama and went on to grad school there. She also studied Spanish language and literature and Latin American literature at the Universidad de Granada in Spain, according to her LinkedIn.

Bryonna Burrows has a MBA
Bry Burrows earned her MBA from the University of Alabama. Her LinkedIn says she served as the Vice President of the MBA Association while in grad school, as well as working as a Graduate Assistant for the Black Faculty and Staff Association and the Culverhouse Career Center. While serving as Vice President of the MBA Association, she created the Manderson Social, which connects alumni with current students. “Her impact at The University of Alabama’s MBA Program will benefit students and alumni for years to come,” a testimonial on her page reads.
Burrows can pass on some of that hard-earned business knowledge to her boyfriend Hurts. Hurts is money conscious himself, once telling GQ that he bought multiple tiny bottles of Bond No. 9 cologne rather than splurging on a full-price bottle. That’s squeezing every penny.

Where does Bryonna Burrows work?
Burrows has been working at IBM since 2019, around the time her boyfriend was graduating from the University of Oklahoma. She moved from working in the Oil & Gas division of the company to working in software in 2021. She became an AI partner in January of 2022.
Burrows’ ability to stay at one company and move up its ranks speaks highly of her. It hasn’t been easy for many to weather the COVID-19 pandemic and economic challenges and layoffs that followed.

Bryonna Burrows may have a soft spot for romance
Burrows’ LinkedIn includes an inspirational quote from an unlikely source. "Replace fear of the unknown with curiosity" is written at the top of her About section. It’s a quote that gets attributed to many—motivational speaker Billy Cox, Christian singer/American Idol contestant Danny Gokey, and “philosophical entertainer” Alan Watts among them. But to whom does Burrows peg the quote? Romance novelist Penelope Ward. Ward is the writer of such books as Playboy Pilot, Stepbrother Dearest, British Bedmate and Mister Moneybags. Ward paraphrases Alan Watts’ quote in Jake Understood, the third in Ward’s Jake trilogy. However it’s possible that Burrows just saw the quote and liked it, without knowing anything about Jake, let alone understanding him.
It is not known whether bf Jalen Hurts knows anything about romance novels, but he is into romantic music. In his GQ “The Essentials” video, he talks at length about his love for classic R&B—including such romantic crooners as Al Green and Anita Baker. He says he knows every track on Al Green’s greatest hits collection “front to back, side to side.” Hurts’ first concert was Frankie Beverly, while he and Burrows were still at UA.
