Enjoy Wordle, sports trivia? These new quizzes are viral for testing your sports knowledge
The Wordle craze -- it seemed as though it captivated a vast majority of people. Were you one of them?
The daily word-guessing puzzle quickly became a social media sensation, and users made a morning routine of proudly posting their results.
Very rarely did the secret word relate to sports.
Now, there's a new series of daily puzzles sweeping the social media landscape, and they are specifically catered for sports fanatics.
They go by a few different names, but all follow the same grid-style format.
The object of the game is to fill out the grid by entering players' names that fit both the row and column's criteria.
Example: If a column says 200-strikeout season, and the third row down says Cy Young Winner, one answer would be Red Sox great Pedro Martinez (among other fitting responses).
For MLB fans
An MLB version is called Immaculate Grid, and can be found here.
For NBA fans
An NBA version is on a site called Crossover Grid, found here.
For NFL fans
An NFL version can also be played on Crossover Grid, found here.
For NHL fans
An NHL version, called Puckdoku, can be found here.
Things to know
A new grid is published on each site every day.
The user is only granted nine guesses to fill in the nine-square grid.
The names of both active and retired players can be used as answers.
A player's name can only be used once on the grid.
For Immaculate Grid (MLB): If a square labels a team and a award/stat, the player must have received that award or recorded that stat while playing for that particular team.
