State narcotics agents seized 4,000 to 5,000 pounds of marijuana product after a fire at a facility in Logan County injured two, officials said.

Marijuana was being processed at the facility illegally, officials said.

Two people suffered burns after a possible explosion Thursday at the facility at 11864 S Sooner Road north of Edmond.

Firefighters from Oak Cliff, Deer Creek, Edmond and Guthrie responded to the scene in a small industrial area.

The operator of the facility was identified as Michael Girocco, who formed the limited liability companies Releaf Labs and Releaf Collective after Oklahomans approved medical marijuana in 2018.

His attorneys said Friday they were not ready to comment.

The site was not registered for marijuana manufacturing with the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Control, records show. Arrests and criminal charges are possible after an investigation is complete, bureau spokesman Mark Woodward said.

The site also did not have a processor license with the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority.

The site had been described Thursday as a marijuana grow or farm. Officials said Friday no plants were being grown there.
