El Dorado saw its season come to an end with a 54-47 loss to Canyon Randall. Erin Carbajal led the Aztecs with 14 points and Melanie Garcia scored 10.

“We did some good things, Randall is a good team and defended well,” El Dorado coach Ty Burns said. “We had opportunities in the game, we had a six-point lead in the second half. A great learning experience for us and we have some kids coming back for next year and this experience will help.”

Lubbock Cooper 63, Burges 50

Burges, which is ranked No. 23 in the state by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches, lost 63-50 to No. 7 Lubbock Cooper. Burges led 28-16 late in the first half but settled for a one-point halftime lead, 30-29. Brianna Vargas led Burges with 11 points and Tranyah de Rouen scored 10.

"I'm proud our kids and what they accomplished," Burges coach Cynthia Hernandez said. "We came out and shot the ball well and defended well. Lubbock Cooper hit some big 3's near the end of the first half that got them back in the game. We battled, I thought we got tired late in the game. It was a tough, hard fought game."
