Eighth grade running back Kory Brown is offered by Rutgers football

Not yet a freshman in high school, Kory Brown was offered by Rutgers football this week, giving him his first Power Five offer. Brown is a name to watch over the next four years.

The offer from Rutgers came when Brown was on campus this week. He is expected to play next season for Tottenville (Staten Island, N.Y.).

The 5-foot-7, 160-pound running back claims a 4.57 time in the 40. A standout sprinter, last month, he ran a 6.99 time in the 60 meters.

It is obviously significant for Rutgers to offer a player who has not yet seen a single snap of high school football.

Brown tweeted about the offer following his visit to campus.

As for the current recruiting class, things are off to a good start for Rutgers football with three verbal commitments in the 2024 class. The class was started this year when New Jersey offensive lineman Kenny Jones, a three-star from Delran, committed.
