8 Tennessee basketball alums in NBA Summer League, including Uros Plavsic, Julian Phillips
Eight former Tennessee basketball players are participating in the NBA Summer League this month in Salt Lake City and Las Vegas.
Games in Salt Lake City began Monday and continue through Thursday. Play in Las Vegas opens Friday and continues through July 17.
One former Vols player has already seen the court. Jaden Springer, a first-round draft pick in 2021 by the Philadelphia 76ers, is playing in Salt Lake City. Against the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday, Springer scored 11 points and had two blocks and two steals.
Springer and seven other former Vols will be practicing and playing with their teams in Las Vegas.
Kyle Alexander (2015-19 at Tennessee), Washington Wizards
Jordan Bowden (2016-20), Los Angeles Clippers)
Kennedy Chandler (2021-22), Brooklyn Nets
Keon Johnson (2020-21), Portland Trail Blazers
Julian Phillips (2022-23), Chicago Bulls
Uros Plavsic (2019-23), Atlanta Hawks
Yves Pons (2017-21), Atlanta Hawks
Plavsic and Pons will play alongside each other while many others will have to face each other head-to-head in the Summer League.
Springer will face the Hawks pair on July 13 (3:30 p.m., NBA TV) followed by a matchup against Bowden and the Clippers on July 14 (4:30 p.m., NBA TV).
All NBA Summer League games will be available on NBA TV, ESPN, ESPNU and ESPN 2.
