ASHEVILLE - Soon, chicken sandwich fans will be flocking to Brevard Road.

Chick-fil-A has proposed to open a new location at 970 Brevard Road in Asheville.

The plan is to demolish the former Ryan’s and build the fast-food chicken restaurant from scratch.

It’s a prime location for Chick-fil-A, at the corner of Ridgefield Boulevard near Asheville Outlets.

The new location is projected to be 4,595 square feet with a seating capacity of 84 people and will include double-drive-thru service.

An opening date has not been confirmed.

The Atlanta-based company, founded in 1967, is reported to have “more than 2,700 restaurants in 47 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and Canada.”

Currently, there are four locations in Asheville and one in Arden.
