Drew Brees shares stories that cause Peyton Manning pain on the Dan Patrick Show
Former Purdue University quarterback Drew Brees went on the Dan Patrick Show on Friday and shared every story he could think of that would cause Peyton Manning pain.
Brees, now a broadcaster for Notre Dame games and NBC Sunday Night Football studio analyst, started slow.
He and Manning bet on the Purdue-Tennessee Music City Bowl game, which the Boilermakers would win 48-45 in overtime after a controversial officials decision on what appeared to be a Tennessee touchdown.
"Initially (we bet) a nice crisp $100 bill with the other guy's signature on it, sent in the mail," Brees said. "Purdue won that game, one of the better bowl games, (but) I hadn't received my hundred bucks. I asked, 'Peyton, what's the deal? Send me the 100 bucks or take me duck hunting,' because I hear he's got a pretty good duck hunting spot. We're going duck hunting. I'll let you know how that goes."

Brees said that he doesn't bring up the Saints' 31-17 Super Bowl victory in 2010 over the Colts with Manning -- "I don't know if I would want that if I was on the other side," he said -- but he didn't mind talking about it with Patrick.
Brees said coach Sean Payton told the team they would use an onside kick at some point in the game, famously deploying it to start the second half. The Saints recovered and scored to take a 13-10 lead on their way to victory.
"We knew from the start of the week (there would be an onside kick)," Brees said. "Name of the play was Ambush. Rightfully named. It had to work because we were going to need to steal a possession if we wanted to win. We knew the firepower they had. They jumped out to a 10-0 lead. We settled it down, it was 10-6 at halftime and they were kicking off. They'd never expect (the onside kick). They didn't, we got it."
