The Philadelphia 76ers entered Thursday night’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers shorthanded after they lost star guard Ben Simmons due to a left calf tightness before tipoff. They then lost their starting shooting guard.

Seth Curry left at halftime as he did not come back out to start the second half. He went scoreless in his outing as he still looked a little sluggish as he continues to work his way back from COVID.

Coach Doc Rivers did not want to send him back out there after he expressed something was wrong at the half.

“Just checking out everything,” said Rivers. “That (COVID) could be part of it. He just looks tired he’s looked at that for a while, so we just need to be very safe. We’re in uncharted waters with all this stuff and he said he didn’t feel great, that’s all we needed to hear. We just have to be very careful right now.”

The Sixers take on the powerful Brooklyn Nets on Saturday and they will need all hands on deck. The hope is that he can get back out there with the team and continue to push forward.
