  • Disney launched its new streaming service, Disney+, on November 12, 2019.

  • In addition to old and classic titles, Disney+ offers original movies and TV series.

  • New movie programming began with a remake of Lady and the Tramp, but information about new movies continues to roll out.

You're never going to be at a loss for movies if you subscribe to the new Disney+ streaming service. Disney+ has more than eight decades of Disney catalogue titles lined up and ready to stream, going all the way back to 1937's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. It encompasses all of the direct-to-TV Disney Channel movies you've already forgotten existed (hello, Zapped starring Zendaya), and will start carrying all of the animated, live action, Pixar, Star Wars, and Marvel movies going forward. It's basically impossible to get through it all.

But Disney is not one to rest on its laurels. In addition to developing buzzy new television series for Disney+, the company has also developed a slate of original movies for the service. The way things are going, Disney+ could be the place where the company experiments with new kinds of films that may be too risky to put straight into the theater, which means some exciting flicks could be on their way.

But first, here's how to watch Disney+.

Disney+ launched on November 12, and you can stream it almost everywhere you stream your other shows: your Roku, iPad/iPhone, Android phones, Chromecast, Xbox One, Playstation, and Amazon Fire products. The price at launch was $7/month, but if you bundle it with Hulu and ESPN, you can get the whole thing for $13/month — or get a year for free if you subscribe to a Verizon wireless service with an unlimited data plan. Then, once you're set up with all that, it's time to stream some movies.

Here are all the original movies coming to Disney+

Only Lady and the Tramp and Noelle were available on the first day — but more are on the way.

The Secret Society of Second-Born Royals: If you've always been more of a Harry person than a Will fan, this one could be for you. The movie combines princesses and superheroes, as Sam, second in line to the throne in her kingdom, learns she's part of a group of second-borns who use superpowers to keep the peace. This will premiere in 2020.

Godmothered: After last year's Noelle, Disney is already at work on next year's big holiday movie. It stars Jillian Bell as a fairy godmother-in-training who decides she needs to prove the importance of fairy godmothers to the world. She looks up an old letter written by a 12-year-old, then tracks down the writer and finds out she's a 40-year-old single mom (played by Isla Fischer).

Home Alone: The 1990 Home Alone is already streaming on Disney+, along with two sequels. But if that isn't enough Home Alone for you, Disney is planning a reboot for Disney+. A cast has been announced, and it includes Ellie Kemper (of The Office), Rob Delaney (of Catastrophe), and Archie Yates (of this year's Jojo Rabbit). Merry Christmas, ya filthy animals!

Flora and Ulysses: Based on the Newbery Award–winning children’s book by Kate DiCamillo, Flora and Ulysses tells the story of a 10-year-old comics fan who saves a super-powered squirrel. No release date has been announced, but production has already begun.

The Sword in the Stone: Also in the queue for live-action remakes, The Sword in the Stone has lined up a writer, Game of Thrones's Bryan Cogman, and a director, Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, who did 28 Weeks Later. Sounds gritty!

Stargirl: Grace VanderWaal, winner of America's Got Talent, will star in an adaptation of the YA novel by Jerry Spinelli.

Safety: Marshall's Reginald Hudlin directs a movie about the inspiring true story of the life of South Carolina Clemson Tigers safety Ray McElrathbey.

Dolphin Reef: Natalie Portman will narrate the next film in the Disneynature series, about a young Pacific bottlenose dolphin named Echo.

Phineas and Ferb: Candace Against the Universe: Much of the original cast will return for the movie based on the Disney Channel series. This time, the pair is tasked with rescuing their sister.

Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made: Spotlight director Tom McCarthy leads this live-action movie based on the Timmy Failure books.

Togo: This movie stars Willem Dafoe in an action/adventure about dog-sledding.

Noelle: For those looking to plan their annual holiday movie-watching, Noelle delves into the workings of the Claus family. When Santa retires, his daughter, Noelle (Anna Kendrick) has to step in and help run things with her brother (Bill Hader).

Lady and the Tramp: Disney rescued two dogs, Rose and Monte, to star in the live-action/CG remake of the classic animated film. Stars Tessa Thompson and Justin Theroux lend their voices.

There are also, of course, sequels, reboots, and remakes in the works: An investor phone call revealed the possibility that Disney could reboot some 20th Century Fox titles now that the two companies have merged. Cheaper By the Dozen, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, and Night at the Museum were mentioned as primary contenders, in addition to Home Alone. And Jen D’Angelo, writer and co-producer of Workaholics, has been hired to write a sequel to Hocus Pocus, though none of the original stars are on board yet. There's no word on whether or not it'll follow the plot of the sequel novel.

And, if that's not enough, you can browse through the 600+ (!) titles of other movies and TV shows that are on the site: Disney+ spent a day tweeting about them all.

If you can scroll to the end of that thread, you're truly a Disney superfan.
