David Raines Community Health Center reopens after renovations
On a hot summer Thursday afternoon David Raines Community Health Center opened its doors officially with a grand ribbon cutting after being closed for several months for renovations.
"We are just excited that we able to show this to our community, because we want to make sure that no matter where you come from or what your economic background, we want you to have quality facilities and quality service," said Willie White, CEO of David Raines Community Health Center.
David Raines is a federally qualified health center for underserved, low-income and insured residents. For over 50 years David Raines has been offering access to healthcare in the Shreveport-Bossier area.
Since its inception, the health center has continued to thrive and grow. It now operates eight school-based clinic in Caddo parish and six community-based clinics in four parishes across Northwest Louisiana.

"This medical facility is a staple in this community and the city, and I couldn't be prouder of the quality healthcare services they provide," said Mayor Adrian Perkins.
In December 2021, the North Shreveport health center was temporarily relocated for major renovations. During this five month renovation White said new flooring, paint and furniture was put into this facility.
The newly renovated facility will provide services such as family medicine, dental, pediatric and WIC.
