Daniel Day-Lewis Makes Rare Red Carpet Appearance With Wife and Son
Daniel Day-Lewis
Daniel Day-Lewis is the definition of a supportive husband in new photos from the red carpet.
On Tuesday, Oct. 3, the 66-year-old retired actor made a rare public appearance with a few key members of his family for the She Came to Me movie premiere in New York City, in which his wife Rebecca Miller, wrote and directed.
Wearing a gray denim jacket, dark wash jeans, a navy blue button-up and black leather belt, the Oscar winner took on a more utilitarian style, which was only exacerbated by his new buzz cut–a dramatic difference from the longer hairstyle he was previously seen sporting.
Joining Day-Lewis was his wife and the couple's 25-year-old son, Ronan. Miller, 61, sparkled in an all-black ensemble, which included a silk tank top and sequin pants. The couple's son opted for a more casual outfit, rocking a plain white t-shirt, light wash jeans and a brown leather belt.
Day-Lewis and Miller have been married for nearly 27 years, first saying "I do" in 1996 and later on welcoming two children: Ronan and his younger brother Cashel Blake Day-Lewis. The actor is also the father of Gabriel-Kane Day-Lewis, whom he shares with his ex, French actress and singer Isabelle Adjani.
Though, the married couple has maintained a rather private life all these years, rarely putting themselves in the spotlight. In fact, the last time The Gangs of New York star was spotted out was months ago, when he was photographed in May with long hair and looking completely unrecognizable while relying on crutches to get around.
Now, while supporting his wife's latest project, Day-Lewis looked to be in good health, glowing beside his loving family.
She Came to Me stars Anne Hathaway alongside Marisa Tomei and Peter Dinklage and is said to follow "a composer who suffers writer's block rediscovers his passion after an adventurous one-night stand." The film is set to release in theaters later this month, on Friday, Oct. 6.
