Dan Ige staying positive despite loss to Bryce Mitchell at UFC Fight Night 228: ‘I’ve been here before many times’
LAS VEGAS – Dan Ige won’t the latest setback of his fighting career affect him.
Despite losing a decision to Bryce Mitchell this past Saturday on the main card of UFC Fight Night 228, Ige (17-7 MMA, 9-6 UFC) is staying positive and remains confident he’ll bounce back better than ever. The UFC featherweight posted a video on Instagram reacting to his defeat.
“I fell short tonight,” Ige said. “I lost on the judges’ scorecards. Small mistakes. I just have to get better and keep chipping away, pick myself up again. I’ve been here before many times. I’ve fallen, and I’ve always gotten back up. That’s the story of my life. Congrats to Bryce. Enjoy the victory with your family, and I’m sure I’ll see you guys soon in the octagon.”
With this loss, Ige saw a two-fight winning streak come to an end. He entered UFC Fight Night 228 with a knockout win over Damon Jackson and a decision win over Nate Landwehr. Ige is 2-4 in his past six UFC outings.
