Crocs' New Collaboration With MSCHF is Nightmare Fuel

Earlier this year, the Brooklyn-based art collective MSCHF set social media ablaze with its "Big Red Boots." The cartoonish boots gained widespread attention but were only MSCHF's most recent foray into the footwear world.

A quick Google search will remind casual observers of the brand's bizarre and impractical catalog of kicks. Everything designed by MSCHF quickly goes viral before disappearing out of the public psyche. It's the fast fashion of footwear and social media.

With the help of Crocs, MSCHF is back with another nightmarish installment. Tommy Cash, an Estonian rapper, dressed as a mime and debuted big yellow boots at Paris Fashion Week.

The new boots feature many of Crocs' defining features, such as the perforations and ankle strap (which was activated into sport mode for all those wondering). In a painful publicity stunt, Cash smoked, drank, and mimed in the front row during a runway walk.

In case there was any confusion, Crocs endorsed the marketing approach as the brand proudly posted pictures of Cash to its Instagram account (but not its Facebook or Twitter accounts).

According to Sole Retriever, the big yellow boots will release to the public later this year for $350. However, there is no official release date. Stay locked into Men's Journal Sneakers for all your footwear news.
