Country music star Zach Bryan to perform at Penn State’s Bryce Jordan Center. What to know
Three days after dropping a new album, country music superstar and singer/songwriter Zach Bryan announced plans for a new tour — including a stop in Happy Valley.
Bryan, a U.S. Navy vet who parlayed viral YouTube hits into a record deal, will perform at Penn State’s Bryce Jordan Center at 8 p.m. March 12, 2024, as part of “The Quittin Time Tour,” according to a Monday afternoon announcement from the Jordan Center. Tickets for the general public will go on sale noon Sept. 8, although prices were not immediately made available.
He’ll be joined in State College with special guests The Middle East and Levi Turner.
Bryan, known for hits such as “Something in the Orange,” has quickly developed a cult following. The 27-year-old Oklahoman began uploading music to YouTube in 2017, released his first album in 2019 and signed a record deal in 2021 (after receiving an honorable discharge from the Navy). He even made an appearance in popular TV show “Yellowstone,” where he played himself.
The raspy-voiced singer released his self-titled fourth album Friday, and he’ll start his newest tour next March. Happy Valley will be the fifth stop on his 50-plus concert tour. (Bryan will also play at Pittsburgh’s PPG Paints Arena on March 9 and Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field on Aug. 7.)
Bryan’s first two albums were self-released. His third, American Heartbreak, was released last May and rocketed to No. 5 in the Billboard 200. His top single from that album, “Something in the Orange,” reached No. 10 in the Billboard Hot 100.
His latest 16-track album “mixes hooky Nashville storytelling with American realism,” per Rolling Stone, and was self-produced. “Some of them are heavy, some of them are hopeful, but more than anything what’s most important to me is that they’re all mine,” Bryan wrote on Instagram last week.
