Coronation Street's Alya Nazir confronts Geoff Metcalfe for lying over the hotel

Coronation Street villain Geoff Metcalfe is horrified tonight (April 1) as Alya Nazir catches him out in another lie.

Geoff (Ian Bartholomew) is wrong-footed when Alya realises that he hasn't been telling the truth about booking a luxury hotel for him and Yasmeen in Spain.

The couple had been planning to fly out for Zeedan's wedding, but the trip was cancelled after Geoff faked a heart scare.

In Wednesday's episode, Alya (Sair Khan) starts to consider the possibility that Geoff wasn't being honest when he claimed to have splashed out on expensive accommodation.

Alya does some detective work and later turns up at Number 6 to have another showdown with Geoff.

Geoff fears he could be about to lose the upper hand, as Alya reveals that she has spoken to the hotel and they have no record of the booking.

Alya points out that Geoff never had any intention of going on the trip and pretended to be unwell in order to get out of it.

The heated situation gets worse when Alya also reveals that she has been speaking to the police about his criminal past.

Geoff turns nasty and threatens Alya, but Yasmeen breaks things up when she arrives home.

Despite Alya's allegations, Geoff assures Yasmeen that he'd never lie to her. But has Alya done enough to plant seeds of doubt in Yasmeen's mind?

Coronation Street airs these scenes tonight at 7.30pm on ITV.
