Corinne Bailey Rae, KT Tunstall, Taj Mahal among headliners for 3 Rivers Arts Festival

PITTSBURGH – With a fresh layout and new main stage location, the Dollar Bank Three Rivers Arts Festival has announced its musical headliners.

Returning to the Pittsburgh Cultural District on June 2-11, the festival offers 10 days of free art and concerts, including internationally known musical acts Corrine Bailey Rae, KT Tunstall and blues legend Taj Mahal, along with a Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra performance.

The Dollar Bank Main Stage will stand at the intersection of Fort Duquesne Boulevard and Stanwix Street, where the Allegheny Overlook pop-up stage was in 2021, and where Pittsburgh Light-up Night acts such as Adam Lambert have performed.

"Audiences will benefit from overlooking Pittsburgh’s beautiful Allegheny River and having access to more grass area, tree cover, and nearby food and drink options," event coordinators, the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, said in a press release.

Due to construction, that site wasn't available last year, when the arts festival moved from its traditional Point State Park location, smack dab into the Cultural District, with a main stage set up at Ninth Street and Penn Avenue.

In leaving Point State Park, the Cultural Trust cited a new state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources order prohibiting park events lasting longer than seven days, as well as employee staffing concerns.

"The festival’s revamped footprint builds on the successes of last year’s event," a Cultural Trust press said. "Guests shopping in the Artist Market will find a new layout, but also familiar spaciousness, achieved in last year’s move to the Cultural District. More than 300 artists from around the region and country will sell fine arts and fine crafts on both sides of Fort Duquesne Boulevard, stretching between Sixth and Ninth streets.

A children's creativity zone, backyard stage and food court will connect the Artist Market to the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust’s indoor galleries, "rounding out a pedestrian-friendly festival layout."
