Coldwater swim takes title at home invitational

COLDWATER – The Coldwater Cardinal Swim and Dive team used wins in three individual events and a victory in one relay to propel the team to the championship of their home invite, the Coldwater Invitational.

Coldwater senior diving ace Charlotte Calhoun continued her winning ways on the 1-meter dive, bringing home the gold medal on her home board.

Sienna Losinski also brought home a gold medal, winning the 100-yard freestyle to go along with a second-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle.

The final individual win for Coldwater was Carly Krzyzanski who bested the field in the long-distance swims, winning the 500 freestyle to go along with a second-place finish in the 200 freestyle.

Also bringing home the gold in their home invitational was the 200-freestyle relay team of Ayla McCowan, Ambriah Lewis, Sidney Aseltine and Losinski.

Other notable swims for Coldwater was Gabby Bookmyer, fourth place in the 50 freestyle and third place in the 500 freestyle; Jossy Martinez, sixth place in the 200 individual medley and fifth place in the 100 freestyle; Ayla McCowan, second place in the 100 butterfly and third place in the 100 breaststroke; Bri Barle, fourteenth place in the 50 freestyle and ninth place in the 100 freestyle; Olivia Boland, third place in the 200 individual medley and second place in the 100 backstroke; Sofia Gruner, fourth place in the 1-meter dive and eleventh place in the 50 freestyle; Macy Poradzisz, fifth place in the 1-meter dive and thirteenth place in the 50 freestyle; Charlotte Stough, tenth place in the 200 freestyle and fifth place in the 100 backstroke; Sid Aseltine, fourth place in the 200 individual medley and third place in the 100 freestyle; Ambriah Lewis, fourth place in the 200 freestyle and fourth place in the 100 breaststroke; Danika Harris, fifth place in the 50 freestyle and sixth place in the 500 freestyle; Korrin Brown, fourth place in the 100 butterfly and third place in the 100 backstroke; and Callie Jones, twelfth place in the 50 freestyle and ninth place in the 100 breaststroke.

Coldwater will return to the pool on Thursday when they travel to Harper Creek.
