A Florida man is charged with murder in connection with the deaths of his mother and her boyfriend.

On Friday, Patricia Matejcek, 62, and her boyfriend, Sean Harrison, 55, were found dead in an RV park in Bradenton, according to reports from WWSB, WTSP and the Bradenton Herald, citing the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

Thomas Matejcek, Patricia’s son, is accused of killing both, and is currently being held on two second-degree murder charges in Manatee County Jail without bond, jail records indicate. It is not clear if he has retained an attorney or entered a plea.

At about noon Friday, neighbors reported hearing a woman screaming and called 911, the outlets reported. When a sheriff’s deputy arrived on scene, he saw a man running from who was quickly apprehended, reports WWSB.

Patricia’s family started a GoFundMe following her death. The organizer, her sister Krista Kale, alleges in the description that Patricia had previously endured abuse and that authorities had failed to protect her.

“Numerous attempts were made to beg for her safety to be met with incompetence, ignorance, and injustice,” Kale wrote in the description. “Our beautiful sister feared and begged for her life only to be told sorry.”

According to the GoFundMe, Patricia is survived by another son and two younger sisters.
