Nightmare wake-up call: Woman wakes up to masked man in all black standing over her, reports say

A woman woke up in her Pennsylvania home to a man wearing all black, including a full-face mask and gloves, standing over her, according to multiple reports citing police.

Wilkinsburg police spoke to a woman on Sunday who told them that she awoke to the unidentified man who allegedly broke into her home, CBS News and WTAE reported. The man did not leave the residence until the woman began screaming and kicking him, police said, per the outlets.

The man was last seen walking around nearby surrounding areas near South Trenton Avenue in Wilkinsburg on the morning of the incident, police said, according to WTAE.

"I kinda thought it could be just some scared old people. But now that you confirmed it, I'm a little bit more worried," Alex Demand, a resident in the area, told CBS News.

Wilkinsburg is just 7 miles outside of Downtown Pittsburgh and is a borough in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.

USA TODAY contacted the Wilkinsburg Police Department on Friday but did not receive a response.

'We've never had anything unusual happen': Another suspicious incident

On Tuesday morning, in the same area as the initial incident, police said they received a call about a random individual attempting to open another resident's door, according to CBS News.

"We always lock our doors, but we've never had anything unusual happen. We think it's a pretty safe neighborhood, but you just never know," Tom Daddesio, another resident in the area, told the outlet.

Police have asked the public to remain "vigilant" as they investigate these suspicious incidents, WTAE reported.
