Influencer Jasmine Yong's Young Son Dead After Freak Accident

Jasmine Yong, a Malaysian influencer with nearly 500,000 followers on Instagram, is mourning the death of her toddler after a freak accident during a family vacation.

According to a series of posts about the tragedy on Instagram, translated by People, Yong and her husband Lim Kong Wang checked into a hotel with their 22-month-old son Enzo to celebrate Mother's Day on Saturday, May 11.

The three "snuggled up" ahead of a nap, where he "drank milk before falling asleep," but when the couple woke up, Enzo wasn't in their room, and noticed that a door that gave access to an indoor swimming pool had been unlocked and opened.

Unfortunately, she found her son unresponsive in the pool, and was unsuccessful in her attempt at CPR. "Poor network in the hotel" prevented them from calling for help, too, so they rushed the baby to the lobby and asked the staff to call an ambulance and help provide first aid in the meantime.

"Half an hour after being sent to the hospital for rescue, the baby finally recovered his heartbeat," she explained. But he was in a coma, and his heart eventually stopped again.

"Our baby Enzo has become a happy little angel👼🏻," she announced earlier this week, sharing photos from his memorial service. "There is no pain or hardship anymore."

She also thanked her followers for their "prayers and blessings" and requested no one "exaggerate, quote out of context, or make things out of nothing" when it came to discussing the tragedy.

"No one wants this accident to happen," she added. "Please let baby Enzo leave in peace, thank you."
