Fla. Man Accused of Shooting Family Dog In Face After Infidelity Is Discovered, Authorities Say
Farhad Deiham, 41, has been charged with aggravated animal cruelty
A Florida man was arrested after authorities accused him of shooting his family dog — and threatening to shoot others — after his alleged infidelity was unearthed.
On April 22, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office arrested Farhad Deiham, 41, and charged him with aggravated animal cruelty, Sheriff Carmine Marceno said in a statement posted to the agency’s Facebook page. It’s unclear if he has entered a plea or retained an attorney to speak on his behalf.
Deputies responded to a Lehigh Acres home just after midnight on a report of a disturbance, the sheriff said. They claim Deiham was threatening to shoot everyone inside the home, including two juvenile family members, after being accused of cheating.
While speaking with the alleged victims, authorities learned that Deiham had allegedly shot the family’s dog, a young pit bull mix, in the face, according to the sheriff’s office. They added that the shooting was caught on video.
During a search of the home, deputies found the dog named Louie hiding behind a couch and gushing blood from his neck and face, authorities said. The dog was treated at Blue Pearl Pet Hospital and is expected to survive.

“Even with this life threatening injury, Louie was sweet and loving to everyone that he encountered,” the sheriff said in the statement. “Veterinarians are saying that Louie will make a full recovery, but will need some time to fully heal. Our friends at Lee County Domestic Animal Services are caring for Louie and are reporting that he is socializing well.”
Sheriff Marceno added that the dog was in good enough spirits to join the sheriff's office’s press conference on the matter — but not without a sweet treat.
“Louie is an amazing dog [and] has a lot of love left to give,” the sheriff said.
