Britney Spears has broken her silence online following the arrest of her former boyfriend, Justin Timberlake.

The pop icon's ex, now 43, found himself in hot water after being nabbed for driving under the influence. Timberlake's mugshot, which surfaced on Tuesday, revealed his visibly red eyes.

The "Cry Me a River" singer was pulled over by the police on suspicion of drink driving in Sag Harbor, located in the Hamptons. It is alleged that Timberlake failed to stop at a sign and was noticeably "swerving" as he drove.

Reports suggest that prior to his late-night drive, the father of two had been mingling with pals at the American Hotel, departing close to half-past midnight.

As the internet buzzed with her ex's legal woes, Britney took to Instagram, posting an image of a cocktail garnished with fruit and cryptically captioning it for her fans: "It's the little things you know [flower emojis]."

True to form, the comments section of Britney's post was turned off, reports the Mirror.

Police sources disclosed to TMZ that Timberlake, who was romantically linked to Britney between 1999 and 2002, seemed "glassy-eyed" and reeked of booze upon his arrest. The "SexyBack" artist also purportedly flunked a roadside sobriety test, struggling with tasks such as walking in a straight line and standing on one leg.

Despite this, Timberlake insisted to the officers: "I had one martini and I followed my friends home," as per the arrest report People magazine got hold of. Even though Timberlake's companions tried to convince the cops to let him off the hook, the singer ended up in handcuffs, under arrest, and in custody.

The District Attorney for Suffolk County issued a statement on Tuesday morning, confirming: "On June 18, 2024, Justin Timberlake was arrested in Sag Harbor for Driving While Intoxicated. He will be arraigned in Sag Harbor Village Justice Court this morning. At this time, we have no further comment."

Timberlake, husband to actress Jessica Biel, arrived at court wearing a dark band T-shirt under an unbuttoned black short-sleeved shirt. Sporting a black baseball cap and sunglasses, he made attempts to conceal his identity.

The singer faces charges including one count of Driving While Intoxicated, running a stop sign and 'failure to keep in his lane.'.

His court appearance is slated for July 26, coinciding with the scheduled start of his Forget Tomorrow World Tour's European leg in Krakow, Poland. The effects of his arrest and impending trial on his world tour are as yet unknown.

His most recent performance took place in Miami at the Kaseya Center on June 15.

An insider informed Page Six that Justin appeared nervous about his tour being possibly disrupted, whispering: "Justin said under his breath, 'This is going to ruin the tour.'". Responding to this comment, a police officer reportedly questioned, "What tour? ".

The former boyband star had to explain he meant his "world tour," which seemed to cause confusion to the officer who apparently didn't recognise him.

Justin's upcoming concerts are set to take place in Chicago from June 21. Following this, he will be heading to New York for performances at the iconic Madison Square Garden on June 25 and 26.
