City Hall welcomes new Cincinnati city council member Seth Walsh
College Hill neighborhood leader Seth Walsh was officially introduced Tuesday as the newest member of Cincinnati City Council.
Walsh will replace Ohio U.S. Rep-elect Greg Landsman. His official swearing-in is scheduled for Dec. 19.
Councilman Reggie Harris explained that Walsh stood out not just for his work in College Hill, but Walsh's grace in explaining that he's not done the work alone.
"It's how he positions himself in the work," Harris said. "He shares with you the history of College Hill, the folks before him who laid the foundation, the partners that are instrumental … that's something that stands out to me as (him being) a leader."
Walsh, 31, of Clifton, is the CEO of the College Hill Community Urban Redevelopment Corporation, where he's brought $85 million in investments to the College Hill business district. He said he'll be leaving that job so he can devote time to his new council job.
Hamilton County Democratic Party Chairwoman Gwen McFarlin praised Harris' selection of Walsh.
"He'll continue to bring integrity and professionalism to City Hall," McFarlin said.
