Check out photos from Nebraska’s volleyball game played in front of world-record crowd
The Nebraska volleyball team’s next match is Sunday against Kansas State.
Don’t expect the atmosphere at that match to be anywhere near the level of the Cornhuskers’ 25-14, 25-14, 25-13 win over Omaha on Tuesday night.
That’s because Tuesday’s match was played at Memorial Stadium, which is home to the football team, and drew 92,003 fans.
“I don’t have enough words to describe it,” Nebraska middle blocker Andi Jackson told The Athletic. “I can’t describe just how grateful I am to be a part of it.”
The Nebraska volleyball team said it set a world record for a women’s sporting event, topping the 91,648 fans who attended a Champions League soccer match between Barcelona and Wolfsburg in Spain on April 22, 2022.
The previous record for an American women’s game was 90,185 in USA’s World Cup final between the United States and China at the Rose Bowl on July 10, 1999, the school noted.
Photos and video from the match show how incredible the atmosphere was for the volleyball match. Take a look.
An unforgettable night with an unforgettable crowd.
