Celine Dion’s health seems to be deteriorating, as an insider has revealed that the Canadian singer – who announced just a few days ago that she had to cancel the 2023 and 2024 dates of her Courage World Tour due to her ongoing health issues – is now having difficulty walking.

The 55-year-old pop icon first cancelled some shows back in October 2021, and then revealed to fans in a heart-breaking candid Instagram video in December 2022 that she had been diagnosed with the rare neurological disorder stiff-person syndrome, which she said only affects about one in a million people. According to the Mayo Clinic, stiff-person syndrome is “an autoimmune disorder of the nervous system, often resulting in progressive, severe muscle stiffness and spasms of the lower extremities and back. It also can affect other body regions.”

Celine Dion Reportedly Has Difficulty Walking

Despite putting on a brave face for a screening of Love Again – the movie she is starring in alongside Priyanka Chopra, which she also wrote five new songs for – the "My Heart Will Go On" singer is reportedly having a "difficult time" right now. An insider told RadarOnline that she is "having difficulty walking and experiences periods of intense pain that come out of nowhere."

The insider went on to say that the "Because You Loved Me" singer is "keeping her condition private at the moment, but her life has changed drastically," adding that she is fighting hard to improve her health. "She sees specialists like a neurologist, a holistic practitioner, and occupational and physical therapists," the source revealed. And she is still remaining positive, according to the source, and "holding out hope that she can beat the odds." The source added: "She's refusing to accept defeat. She needs to accept the treatment. And lots of R&R."

Celine Dion Officially Cancels 2023 And 2024 Tour Dates

On May 26th, the "Love Again" singer sadly announced that she was cancelling all of her tour dates for 2023 and 2024 due to her ongoing health issues, and expressed her extreme disappointment in a heartfelt Instagram post to fans.

"It is with tremendous disappointment that we have to announce today the cancellation of the Courage World Tour," she wrote on Instagram. "I’m so sorry to disappoint all of you once again. I’m working really hard to build back my strength, but touring can be very difficult even when you’re 100%. It’s not fair to you to keep postponing the shows, and even though it breaks my heart, it’s best that we cancel everything now until I’m really ready to be back on stage again. I want you all to know, I’m not giving up… and I can’t wait to see you again!"
