Cathedral's Xavier Booker, a top-5 recruit nationally, includes IU, Purdue in his top 10

Xavier Booker, the 6-11 Cathedral basketball senior-to-be who skyrocketed into a top-five spot nationally (No. 2 by Rivals and No. 4 by 247Sports) this spring, announced his top-10 college choices Monday.

Booker included in-state programs IU, Purdue and Notre Dame among his final 10. Also in the mix are Gonzaga, Oregon, Michigan, Michigan State, Cincinnati, Ohio State and Auburn.

Get to know:Xavier Booker is a 6-11 3-point shooting, shot-blocking marvel. And only getting better.

He averaged 12.5 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.3 blocked shots and 1.4 assists per game for Class 4A state champion Cathedral as a junior. Booker took an official visit to Notre Dame in June and has another lined up to Ohio State the first weekend of September.

In early April, Booker was invited to participate in the USA Basketball Junior National minicamp in New Orleans.
