Carrie Underwood's Ridiculously Toned Legs Stole The Show At The ACM Awards

From Good Housekeeping

On September 16, the 55th annual Academy of Country Music Awards took place in Nashville (and around the country virtually) to celebrate the biggest acts in country music. Singer Carrie Underwood, 37, won big, taking home the Entertainer of the Year award in a historic tie with Thomas Rhett.

And when she accepted the award, she rocked a gorgeous sparkly black gown with a high slit that showed off her super toned legs.

Carrie works hard to get those muscles looking so crazy-sculpted. The Women's Health cover star recently shared her workout in the April 2020 issue. She works with trainer Eve Overland, who created a grueling leg routine for Carrie. Her leg workout consists of six supersets of three moves, each done for three or four sets. Moves include tuck jumps, Romanian deadlifts (with 30- to 35-pound dumbbells), walking lunges (with 20- to 25-pound dumbbells), and elevated sumo squats (with a 50-pound dumbbell!).

And Carrie also loves running on the treadmill. “I have to set goals for myself: ‘Every 15 minutes I’m going to hit 1.25 miles, then by the end of an hour I’ll have run 5 miles,’” she says.

Of course, Carrie also pays attention to her diet, working with nutritionist, Cara Clark. Carrie likes to have a plan and tracks her calories and macros.

“I love rules,” Carrie told Women's Health. “This is how I feel good about myself, and this is how I operate.” She tracks calories and macros (the amount of protein, carbs, and fat she consumes daily) on the app MyFitnessPal, sticking to a breakdown of 45 percent carbs, 30 percent fat, and 25 percent protein.

She starts her day with a tofu or egg-white scramble, Ezekiel toast, berries, and coffee. At lunch, she’ll have a sandwich with Tofurky, tomato, avocado, red onion, spinach, and mustard. Her snack might be a green smoothie or protein bar. Then, for dinner, she’ll make roasted veggies and a piece of vegan chicken, or a tofu stir-fry.

And her treat? Red wine.

“I do have my vice,” Carrie told Women's Health, “and it’s red wine. It’s good for my heart, right?!”
