Cardinals place Carlos Watkins on IR, elevate DL Ben Stille from practice squad

The Arizona Cardinals announced some roster moves on Saturday to finalize the roster for their game on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys.

They placed defensive lineman Carlos Watkins on injured reserve, as expected. He suffered a bicep injury last week that requires surgery.

Able to elevate two players from the practice squad to the active roster, the Cardinals only elevated one, electing to add defensive lineman Ben Stille.

It would seem that defensive lineman Leki Fotu will be good to go, giving them Fotu, Stille, Jonathan Ledbetter, Kevin Strong and rookie Dante Stills available to play.

The Cardinals also announced that they signed defensive lineman Roy Lopez to the practice squad, as previously reported. The Tempe native played the last two seasons for the Houston Texans, appearing in 33 games, starting 29.

They released undrafted rookie defensive lineman Jacob Slade from the practice squad.
