Calder Cup: Hershey Bears face upstart Firebirds in finals
It's old vs. new as the 2023 AHL Calder Cup finals start Thursday.
The Hershey Bears, the oldest franchise in the AHL, hit the ice against the Coachella Valley Firebirds, an 2022-23 expansion club, in the best-of-7 series.
The Bears, owners of 12 Cup championships, are in the finals for the first time since 2016 and the 24th time overall.

Games 1, 4 and 7 will be televised on FOX43 and NBC Sports Washington. Games 2, 3 and 5 will be on Antenna TV and NBC Sports Washington. Game 6 will be on NBC Sports Washington and a channel to be named. All games will be streamed on AHLTV.
