Burger King free for a year? Win it at the Swansea grand opening, but there's a catch.
SWANSEA — The best things in life are free.
With this in mind, Swansea's new Burger King is offering something that truly rules. There is a whopper of a deal up for grabs at the grand opening of its new 711 GAR Highway location.
On Saturday, Feb. 25, the first 100 guests who spend $20 or more at their debut event will receive free meals for a year, according to Nicoletta Cammilleri, marketing director for JSC Management Group, which operates the Swansea site as well as a number across New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
So get in line early, because some lucky patrons will get to have it their way to help mark Burger King's grand opening celebration.
"Doors open for the giveaway at 12 p.m. so we encourage the community to arrive early to save their spot in line. We will have a DJ, the King, and more from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., so our guests are in for a treat (even while they're waiting in line)!" Cammilleri said.

She is anticipating a "huge crowd" at the Feb. 25 ribbon-cutting, drawn in by the meal giveaway as well as other fun activities, including a balloon artist, live music, corn hole, photo booth, crown decorating, a spin-the-wheel to win free Coca-Cola merchandise and more.
How does free meal deal work?
The first 100 people who spend $20 or more at the 711 GAR Highway spot after doors open at noon will receive an envelope containing 52 free meal cards. Each card is valid for a sandwich of their choice, one small french fry, and one small soft drink. The cards are valid for one year (until Feb. 25, 2024). One card can be redeemed each week, or they may be redeemed at the winner's discretion.
The promotion is only valid for dine-in or take-out orders. Guests will need to park and wait in line in order to win.
The local police department will be on hand at the grand opening to help direct traffic on the busy Route 6.
Community outreach
The goal with the giveaway, Cammilleri said, is to welcome locals to the new site and "encourage them to come back to our restaurant long after the event is over."
JSC Management Group has offered the free meal promotion at every grand opening event, and each has proven "very successful," Cammilleri said. So far, they've awarded free Burger King for a year to over 500 local guests.
A $1,000 donation will also be presented to the Swansea Animal Shelter on Saturday, marking their commitment to the community.

“We are proud to grow our restaurant base in Swansea and create more than thirty jobs in the local community,” says franchisee James Cammilleri, of JSC Management Group. “We look forward to serving guests their favorite flame-grilled BK products for many years to come!”
This opening is part of JSC Management Group’s plan to expand the BK brand in Massachusetts, where it operates 19 locations. The company has several new restaurants slated to open soon in the Bay State, including one in Taunton.
