Bucs fans react to Sunday’s epic collapse vs. Bengals
When the Tampa Bay Buccaneers racked up a 17-0 lead in the first half Sunday against the red-hot Cincinnati Bengals, it made some fans dare to hope their beloved Pewter Pirates might finally be turning a corner this season.
After the Bucs gave up 34 straight points in a 34-23 loss, those hopes came crashing back down to earth.
Despite still being in first place in the horrific NFC South, yet another crushing defeat left the Tampa Bay faithful frustrated and infuriated after watching their team waste such an impressive start against one of the best teams in the league.
Here’s how fans reacted to Sunday’s loss:
When the Bucs were bad and untalented it was tolerable because they played to their ability. A team that clearly has talent is so disappointing and you can see and feel things happening in real time is just a huge bummer. Strong USF under Skip Holtz energy.

Baffling game management, terrible execution, no one stepped up to stop the bleeding. We feel further from being a good team now than we did to start the year.

Not surprising. I think it is time to start planning for next year. Let the Panthers take the division and embarrass themselves in the post season instead of us.

Bucs still in first place. Embrace the suck. Let's go!!!

It's been a while since I've been apathetic towards the Bucs. I knew Arians was a good coach, but I never imagined how bad it would be without him as the HC. Can't help but think his absence is the main cause of these issues.

You know when analysts say, "X coach has forgotten more about football then I'll ever know."
When it comes to Leftwich, I don't think that's true. I think fans could call a better game.
That he wasn't fired at the bye was an egregious mistake.
Also, Bowles as a HC ain't it.

Didn’t expect to win, however, the first half gave me hope. Saw flashes of the potential we what we expected this team to be in the first half. Leaves me with a sliver of hope going forward. Second half meltdown was just atrocious. Coaching will be bad, talent is not the issue.

Great to see us look good first half, that’s encouraging. Second half imploding sucked but is what it is. Still leading the division hopefully win out and get healthy, ready for a playoff run

Yesterday felt like they had something all along in their back pocket, with all the motions, WRs/Double HBs in the backfield, it started working way too well, and they were like, nah pump the breaks, save this..

Just ready to be done with the season but now my. Christmas Day will be contaminated by this terrible Bucs offense

We’ve hit rock bottom. Try to finish the season with at least 1 more win. Start building for next year.

Feelings getting hurt and it seems some don't give it 100% anymore. pic.twitter.com/qPKFvD4IUi

I’m actually feeling pretty got damn positive.
We were owning one of the hottest teams in the league – a Super Bowl contender – and honestly just handed them the game with a Winstonian-level event. It's the first time I saw them close to being back
That was encouraging. #GoBucs pic.twitter.com/0KZVb7KwCl

A hangover is my reaction

I’m ready to clean house. This team should not be 6-8. Too much talent for that and that goes straight back to coaching. My hope is that we miss the playoffs so the front office would have an easier time cleaning house. Making the playoffs likely buys them another year

Par for the course as long as Bowles is at HC. Team has no energy, no drive. Not saying this is on Bowles because he's quiet, more so because he's seemingly destroyed the culture.

Pissed wondering how it happened we were up big at half then WTF
— 🇺🇸 Boogie 🇺🇸 (@BoogieKincaid) December 19, 2022
The first half shows what this team can be, problem is the coaching staff is pathetic and never has an idea how to make an adjustment or stick with what is working
